I have a Tan recliner in my living room. When I get home from whatever my day involves I dont really feel like I am home until I have settled into said recliner. As soon as I do I can feel myself decompress from the day. Dogs and cats are not so different. They have areas in the home that make them feel more comfortable. They have areas in the home where they like to be when it storms or something scares them. So I found myself thingking I need a Dog Bed. Dog beds are a good way to give your pet their own space. We have two black labs who are fairly certain that they are really people. My wife and I bought them both their own Dog Bed. We did not train them to lay on them. We didnt even encourage it. They just seem to know that the beds were for them. And they use them! Both dogs (Doc and Bela) still lay on the couch with us on a regular basis. However, when they are ready for a serious nap they head for there beds. It is the same drill each time. They stand on their bed, spin all the way around two or three times and plop straight down. All in all I think the beds were a good buy. We do have a tendencey to over-indulge our pets but I think the beds do serve a good purpose. The dogs are comfortable on them and it spares their joints from laying directly on the hard floor (Labs are succeptable to joint problems anyway). We also put the beds in the back of our SUV for long trips and they both settle right in immediatly. Dog beds have gotten popular and are availible in all shapes and sizes. I will include a few links to a company that sells them online for a good price. There are also several links on this page for pet products and medicine.
